Warrnambool May Racing Carnival - Main Event
The race course leaves everyone breathless as the horse and rider traverse in a most unconventional manner. Once the race has begun they proceed in a clockwise movement and there is where convention stops. After racing through paddocks and the roadside, the horse and rider come back into the course in a counter clockwise fashion. The main event for many is this "Dominant" Grand Annual Steeplechase. The many jumps that are part of this course serve to make it the longest steeplechase in Australia. Over no less than 5,500 metres the horses and riders battle it out in the hopes for eternal glory.
Warrnambool May Racing Carnival - Day 1 Ladies Day
The three day extravaganza is packed with exceptional racing and gastronomic delights. The pure bliss of spending three days watching beautiful horses is quite enchanting. Each day will bring something special. Race Tuesday is considered to be Ladies Day. The 3YB Scotty Stewart Brierly Steeplechase is the event of the day and the culmination of the day is the most popular Ladies luncheon.

The thrill of watching the top jockeys will be unveiled on Wednesday when they run two different races; the 1200m Scott Petroleum Wangoom Handicap and the Sungold Milk Galleywood Hurdle. The skills of the men on horseback with the magnificent horses combine to give you a perfect day at the races.
